Can you believe the holidays are just around the corner? Besides thinking about what yummy treats are in store at this year’s Thanksgiving table, why not do something to help those who may go hungry?

Pushing the Envelope is working to make sure everyone has something to be thankful for. To do this, we will be kicking off the 5th Annual CAN IT! campaign on Monday, October 19 to help put hunger in its place this Thanksgiving. However this effort would not be successful without the help of our friends, family, clients and colleagues. We are asking you to team up with us to collect non-perishable food items to support the Community Cooperative in providing the less fortunate in our community with meals.

We’ve set up drop-off locations across the greater Fort Myers and Naples areas to collect non-perishable food items from October 19 to November 20. Our goal is to collect 1,500 items this year. Next time you’re dining out, going to yoga or even having your hair done, bring along a few cans and place them in the wrapped boxes on your way in. Every little bit counts – it only takes a few items to make a difference for families in need.

CAN we feed the hungry in Southwest Florida? Yes, we CAN!

Would your business like to join in and serve as a drop-off location? Do you have questions or need more information? Visit GetPushing.com/CAN-IT or contact us today at (239) 221-2858 or via email. Volunteer locations will be provided with a decorated collection box and flyer for your business! Pushing the Envelope will also pick up the collections throughout the campaign and coordinate to deliver them to CCI.

The Community Cooperative serves Fort Myers and the greater Lee County area, including Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres, providing meals each month through their Soup Kitchen and Meals on Wheels programs. The nonprofit agency also educates 40 children in their Community Montessori Preschool, provides weekend backpacks full of food to more than 2,500 children each school year and oversees a mobile food pantry as well as an everyday choice marketplace. CCMI is located at 3429 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd in Fort Myers. For more information please visit www.ccmileecounty.com.
